The Symposium will be held in Cartagena de Indias (map) one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia, with over a million inhabitants living right on the Caribbean Sea, and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site  (info)

This city, founded in the sixteenth century and declared independent of the Spanish crown in the nineteenth century, is now the main tourist center of Colombia. Bordered by the Caribbean Sea, its streets the architecture of the walled city are mixed with the black and mulatto city and the contemporary tourist infrastructure.

Located 663 km from the capital city Bogotá, three different airlines have direct flights to and from Cartagena.

Towards Colombia, several operators of international flights cover all destinations from main capitals and Latin American cities. 

Several hotel chains are located in the city of Cartagena, as well as smaller hotels and inns. In process are conversations and deal offers with chains and hotels willing to join IAUS 327.

Public transport services by bus and taxi operate though different streets of the city and neighboring towns.

 Traveling to Colombia has no restrictions, and for stays under 90 days for tourism does not require visa if it comes from one of the following countries: Argentina , Austria , Barbados , Belgium , Brazil, Canada , Costa Rica , Chile, Denmark, Ecuador , El Salvador , Spain , USA, Finland , France, Great Britain , Guatemala , Italy , Japan , Mexico , Netherlands, Norway , Peru , Republic of Korea ( South Korea) , Germany , Sweden , Switzerland , Trinidad and Tobago , Uruguay , Venezuela and foreign residents of Canada and United States.
